Ames on 9/11

Really random, but for those working at Ames on 9/11, what are your memories of that day? Any recollections, thoughts, etc. as we near the 24th anniversary?

9-11 was nearly eight years after I had left Ames.  I was working for an IT company in Pittsburgh at that point. 

In a way 9-11 is what killed Ames.  They were teetering on the brink of another bankruptcy after struggling to digest Hills.  9-11 depressed the Christmas selling season for them at the worst possible time.  They did not recover.
