Investor group making bid to buy Macy's

A group of investors has put in a bid to buy Macy's for $5.8 billion.

Macy's stock in response jumped from $17 to over $20 per share.

Some of the reporting on this says that the investor group "finds Macy's real estate holdings to be attractive".  If so that is not a good sign for the company continuing to be around long-term as a retailer.
