Mohawk Village Market closing mid-November

While I did not have a problem with the store's vintage decor and fixtures, the presence of years-expired food on the shelves was the deal-breaker for me. The worst for me was last year when I saw Shurfine-branded lentils that expired in 2017! That alone makes you wonder how much more of the food is expired.

Sounds like a lot of the Foodland stores we had here in Pittsburgh.  Towards the end every one was dirty, broken down, dodgy stuff on the shelves, etc.

OK, that does make sense.  Not sure why they would leave things like that around for actual sale (maybe if they had older packages on a top shelf as sort of a museum display that would make sense, but not trying to sell them).

Then again, when people donate an item with a 1998 date to a food drive...
