The mall is gone, but still affecting traffic apparently

Parkway Center Mall in Pittsburgh, where I worked many years ago, was demolished in 2016, three years after losing Kmart as it's last significant tenant. (a small remnant remains in the form of a Giant Eagle store that was left standing and which converted to curbside pickup only mode during the pandemic).

Despite the fact that this mall no longer stands it is prominently mentioned in radio traffic reports almost every morning.  "You'll encounter a slowdown near the Parkway Center Mall."  "A three-car accident tying-up traffic in front of Parkway Center Mall", etc.

I just have to wonder why this mall failed if it is in such a significant location, and if it's still impressed on the minds of traffic reporters all these years later?
