The little known pet retailer, the company ceased U.S. operations in late 2020 amid the pandemic. It tried to compete with Petco & Petsmart but couldn't outpace them in terms of sales and revenue. By that time, it had 358 locations across the United States. The company was founded in 1995.

First of all, pictured here is a PetValu which was actually attached to a Stew Leonard's store in Newington, CT which was sealed off around that same period. Taken three years ago by yours truly. Second pic is a now-vacant PetValu at Kelly Road plaza in Vernon, CT which was closed when the whole chain went out of business in the US.
