I can't believe they shut down the Hatfield Pa. location just because it was an old one from 1978. http://www.clemensmarkets.com/

Here is a sketch of the Clemens in Trappe Pa.

Heres the Clemens in Lansdale Pa. Farther down to the left there used to be an Ames.

Their prices always seemed awfuly high....I haven't been to one in about 4 or 5 years though, so maybe they are better now.

Never heard of Clemen's but I like their logo.:bounce:

The star emblem they've had since who knows when, a very long time. The Clemens sign used to have different lettering that they changed about 10 years ago. It used to be more bold.

This is a picture of a Clemens from the 1950's.

Okay, this Clemens is in Skippack Pa. It opened in the 70's and moved here in the mid-90's. The building was originally a small one floor mini mall that was completly square shaped, no halls. It was called Clover Mall because there was a Clover inside. After the Clover closed along with the rest of the Clovers the mall decided to close as well. The Clemens which was next to the clover on the other side with no entrance to the mall woved in to the mall and the other remaining stores inside moved outside in the building with some still having entrances into the supermarket. The Clover is now a Kohl's and the old Clemens became and Sears Hardware which moved to Norristown and then became a Home Goods in 2004.

Heres an arial view of it from http://www.kimcorealty.com/. This image looks like it was when it was still a mall and the Clover was closed, probebly resently after they closed.

Clemens announced today that they are selling out....most of their stores are going to Giant (which makes no sense as Giant stores are typically much larger and more modern). The rest are going to C&S Wholesalers (owner of Grand Union and other smaller chains), and one store is closing. This is probably due to the fact of Wegmans opening up one area store and poor sales at many locations for the past few years.
