In a bankruptcy court filing Moonbeam Capital Partners, owners of the now-vacant
Century III Mall, revealed plans to demolish the mall and replace it with a mixed-use
development.

JC Penney, the last remaining tenant, could stay as that portion of the building
can effectively be split from the rest.

Of course Moonbeam Capital has made so many misleading statements since
acquiring Century III I guess we'll believe it when we see it.

Sears Holdings has filed an objection to Moonbeam Capital's proposal to demolish Century III.

This is part of an ongoing convoluted problem with the mall caused by the fact that Sears Holdings
apparently holds an actual ownership stake in the former Sears wing of the building.

The longer this thing sits vacant and rots, the worse it is for everybody who lives in West Mifflin
(including one of my kids).
