Hey everyone. I went to King of Prussia, Pennsylvania for a few days. I had a good time.

Thursday June 6th.

I had my first ride in an Uber. It was great. My friend Nate sent me an Uber gift card to use to get to the Berlin, Connecticut Amtrak station. I got there in plenty of time to catch my train. The train ride was great. Uneventful. My trouble didn't begin until after I got to 30th Street station in Philly. I was supposed to take a SEPTA Bus from Philly to King of Prussia. Would've only cost $2.50 . SEPTA's website and Google Maps said the bus to King of Prussia leaves from the corner of Market Street and 24th Street (or 24th and Market, same difference). Should've been simple. Maybe I'm a f-cking idiot, but even with navigation on my phone, I could not find 24th Street!  >:( I walked up and down Market Street a few times. I saw Schuylkill Avenue, I saw 23rd Street, and I saw 22nd Street, but I would be damned if I could find 24th! And on my final walk back to 30th Street station somehow I tripped and fell. Scrapped up my right knee. My left leg still hurts. When I got back to 30th Street station I was frustrated. Mainly because I was short on cash. (So I was trying to figure out  Finally after some back and forth on Facebook Messenger my friend Nate sent me another Uber Gift card and I took an Uber from 30th Street station to my hotel in King of Prussia. It was an uneventful ride, but some of the stunts I seen drivers pull on I-76 (Schuylkill Express Way) probably took 10 years off my life.

Checked into my hotel. The Crowne Plaza on Mall BLVD across from the King of Prussia Mall. My room was on the 3rd floor. Recently remodeled. In fact some remodeling was still going on while I was there (in the lobby). I relaxed a bit. My friend Kyle texted me he would be late picking me up. No big deal. It gave me more of a chance to unwind and take a cold shower. It was quite humid in the Philly area on Thursday.

When he picked me up we went to Chickie and Pete's Sports Bar in Audubon. (See my separate post about that chain). I had a Meatball Parm sandwich. Kyle had Chicken Parm. We shared an order of their famous "Crab Fries." Had a beer and a shot. While I've been known to have a beer from time to time, I don't typically do shots.

After dinner we drove over to the King of Prussia Town Center - a relatively new lifestyle center (think Blue Black Square in West Hartford, CT). Sadly Duck Donuts was closed for the night. So we went over to The Wegman's since I had never been to one. Afterwards Kyle dropped me back at my hotel and I was done for the night.

Friday June 7th.

I don't know why, but I had trouble sleeping. I slept from 11PM-2AM and from 6:15AM-7:30AM. After taking a shower and getting dressed I had a delicious breakfast buffet at the hotel for $15.95. After that I went outside and explored the immediate area around the hotel. Costco was behind the hotel hidden by trees. I also got to take a bunch of pictures of the former Toys "R" Us/Babies "R" Us. (I will upload them later). I then spent some time indoors and outdoors reading and listening to music. My plan was to walk over to the King of Prussia Mall in the afternoon. After a while I started feeling sick. I over-indulged at breakfast. I went back to my room around 1PM (even though it hadn't been cleaned yet) and dozed in bed while watching TV.

Felt better around 4:30, got dressed and went down to the bar for a beer/dinner. For an appetizer I had Philly Cheese Spring rolls and for dinner I had a Bavarian Reuben Sandwich which came with Onion Rings. Both were good. I ended up having 3 beers. With tax and tip I spent just under $50. I went back to my room and settled in for the night. I read and listened to music. Kyle was mad at me for not going to the Valley Forge Casino where he works.

Saturday June 8th.

I slept much better than Thursday Night. I packed up all my stuff. Had the breakfast buffet again. Relaxed in front of the TV. Checked out and got an Uber to the train station. Another uneventful ride, but that traffic on 76 was even worse than Thursday afternoon. The Uber Driver asked me where I was from and when I answered Connecticut she said she could tell. I have no idea what she meant by that. Got to 30th Street Station at Noon (in plenty of time for my 2:15PM train). I sat with my headphones on listening to my music/reading and sipping on a Grape Coolata from Dunkin' completely unaware of anything that was going on around me although I did hear quite a few sirens. When I went out to the main concourse to use the bathroom I saw lots of firefighters and people in Hazmat suits. They were making announcements that the 195 train was evacuated.

Eventually the 195 train was reboarded. And my train the 140 train at 2:15 boarded and departed on time. The train ride was uneventful. Got back to the Berlin, CT train station about 10 after 7. My Uber came just after 7:30. What a f-cking nightmare. Most the ride the driver was arguing on the phone with his girlfriend and when on the highway we were doing up to 90 MPH in a 55. After I got back to Southington I was happy to be alive. I reported the driver to Uber, buy have yet to hear back from them.

Reading "breakfast buffet" just made me very hungry.  Sounds like a wild adventure, do you ever look into the windows of the abandoned places or check to see if a door was left unlocked?
