Is there a list anywhere? Bristol, Connecticut population 62,000ish has 2 Seasonal locations. One in The Annex Plaza at 123 Farmington Avenue. The other is in ShopRite Plaza at 1200 Farmington Avenue. New Britain population of 70,000ish has 2 Seasonal locations. One in the New Brite Plaza on East Main Street and one in Stop and Shop Plaza on the corner of West Main and Corbin. Southington population 43,000ish has only one location - a year-round location at 768 (750) Queen Street in the ShopRite Plaza.

When actual CPA's are willing to do your taxes for a better price than the
crash-trained seasonal recruits at Block, your business model is pretty much toast.

I have an old friend, great person, but they're in their 40's & have never held the same job for much more than a year. This spring they were at H&R Block. My guess is that the bar is set pretty low for employees.

That's how I've been recently and I'm in my 30s. I got turned down for a job at H&R Block a few years ago. I don't remember want the job was, but it involved driving around to all their offices in Central Connecticut. One reason I thought it would be a cool job is because I thought "Hey I can get paid for driving around all day listening to my music. And the pay is much better than pizza delivery."

I had a bad experience with Block one year when I really needed tax help
(I had lived in 3 states in one calendar year, and the state returns were unbelievably complex).

Talk about sticker shock!  Bad enough that the State of Ohio got away with double-taxing
me on $4000 I didn't even earn there, but Block stuck me with a tax prep bill of nearly $500!

After that I began using my uncle's friend who had a tax prep business.  He was not a CPA
but had done it for many years.  Never charged me more than $125.  Last year he retired
and sold his business to a CPA, and that guy is charging the same rates.
