Mr. Coyne was present at Forbes Field to see Babe Ruth hit his last home run in 1935.
He has been an usher for the team at Forbes Field, Three Rivers Stadium and PNC Park
since that time, only taking a break to serve in the Armed Forces during World War II.
He recently suffered some health setbacks which finally convinced him the time had come
to retire.

The team is planning a big celebration for his 100th. birthday, coming later this month.
