SeaWorld used to have a park in Ohio next to Geauga Lake from 1970 until 2001 when the park was sold to Six Flags to become "Six Flags Worlds of Adventure".

Lots of people from here in the Pittsburgh area used to go to Sea World in Ohio, as it was
less than a two hour drive.  There was a regular amusement park called Geauga Lake on the
other side of the lake. After Sea World left Six Flags owned the combined parks for a few years, and then they were sold to a local owner, who closed-down what remained of the sea life park. 
A new water park was constructed on part of that site. 

Eventually both parks were acquired by the company that owns Cedar Point, which opted
to remove an Ohio competitor, and closed the amusement park.  The rides were torn down
or sold off.   Today only the water park on a portion of the old Sea World remains, while
the rest of the site has been redeveloped for new housing.

When Six Flags sold Geauga Lake to Cedar Fair, it was beginning of the end for the park since Geauga Lake was so close to Cedar Point that it alienated Cedar Point's customers until Cedar Fair decided to close Geauga Lake because of said park was taking away business from Cedar Fair's flagship park, Cedar Point.
