An ad of page 3 of The Southington Observer from September 8th, 1983 said AMES in Meriden, Connecticut was having their Grand Opening September 8th at 9AM at Centennial Plaza corner of West Main St and Centennial Ave. --- When did they move to East Main and was this a result of them taking over another store?

The East Main St. store was previously a Zayre, and Ames took it over when they merged with Zayre. They may have kept both Meriden stores open for a little bit and then closed the Centennial Plaza store.

Wasn't that where Railroad Salvage was located after Ames close?
