A Utah woman offended by T-Shirts being sold at PAC Sun shelled out over $500 to buy out the store's entire stock. She says it's illegal for the store to be selling T-Shirts with scantily clad ladies. One shirt you can see a woman's butt cheeks. She's wearing a thong. And another shows a woman with her blouse open and you can see her bra. There's nothing wrong with that.

This reminds me of a woman from Southington, Connecticut who tried to get a store that sells "adult" oriented merchandise shut down. The woman from Southington earned the nickname of "No Sex" by the readers of The Bristol Press/New Britain Herald websites.

This is probably the same type of woman who would walk around saying "sex is disgusting" just because she went though menopause and think video games "hurt our children and cause murders".

Stork of The Weak

I'm surprised a woman who wears earrings (as she is in the video) would be so offended. Not that long ago in history, earrings were thought of as a symbol of prostitutes! So in a way this story reminds me of Clayton Bigsby, the blind African American white supremacist from Chappelle's Show.

You know what really pisses me off about that? The fact that the only people they interviewed were woman in their late 40's and up. How about interviewing someone who actually shops their for themselves and not their son? How about interviewing a man? Hell how about interviewing just someone who is open minded? If this woman is so offended from this I can only imagine what would happen when she found out her son is probably in the other room jerking off to BDSM porn every night.

Im willing to bet money that if this has been a shirt with a picture of a half naked man on it and she had been 10 years younger she would be drooling all over it and have no problem with it.

Stork of The Weak

A few years ago an Israeli basketball team went to play a big game in Japan. All the team members posed for a portrait of them making the "Asian eyes" gesture. Well of course a newspaper in the UK wrote a story about this picture and called the article "running laps with racism". What's stupid is that visitors to Japan from other countries (other Asian countries included) are often looked down on by the natives, and this is ignored by the mainstream media, yet a group of non-Japanese is condemned by the world media for taking a very FUNNY picture? And considering all the suffering the Israelis' recent ancestors went through (these were the Jews in the Holocaust), I do think this basketball team is immune in a way from being charged with racism in this case. In fact Japanese politician Taro Aso said something not long ago about the Japanese being exploited financially by "rich Jews" in the Western world. But if this team someday were to paint their faces a darker shade to imitate the NBA, if you know where this is going, that would be awful. And I would be really disgusted if they made the towels from the locker room into "costumes" to disparage their country's neighbors, if you know what I mean (think about it...)

If they managed to sell out the entire rack in one shot, I'm sure PAC SUN would be happy to
go on offending her forever.   ;D

Yeah she somehow failed to realize that the more they sell the more likely they are to keep selling them. Lol

stuff like this always backfires remember that woman who threw a big stink about Married With Children she tried to boycott the show and get it off the air and in the end the show only became more popular. and if anything her last name is more offensive then the shirts

Ha Ha. I was wondering if anyone would say anything about her last name. It's a legitimate name.

It's not related to the woman, but there's a company called COX Communications that has a division that owns Cable Companies, a division that owns Radio and TV stations, and I believe they used to have a Newspaper division.

Today it's PacSun pulling the t shirts with nearly nude racy women on them, tomorrow it could be that some mom wants Spencer's stop selling "adult" oriented merchandise all together!

Spencer's selling some adult merchandise is exactly the argument people had who were in favor of the adult store opening in Southington had.

If she is so concerned about them selling this shirt then why isn't she concerned about the Victoria Secret that's IN THE SAME MALL?

Good question. I don't have an answer for that one.

At any rate as I guy I'm not comfortable going into Victoria Secret. My Mom likes the bath and body products that they sell at Victoria's so one year I decide to get her a gift card for Christmas. I made 2 of my other guy friends plus his girlfriend come into the store with me. That and a few puffs of illegal courage finally made me feel less uncomfortable in the store.

TheFugitive

Reminds me of a lady who came into an Ames store where I was working.

She wanted to complain about a video we were selling.  Our selection was pretty tame so I had
no idea what she was talking about.  She pulled out a VHS tape that contained public domain
cartoons from the 1940's.  She played one in the Electronics Dept. and began to point out
all of the HIDDEN SATANIC MESSAGES in this dusty cartoon.  Assisted by her Bible.  She
demanded that we pull all copies from sale immediately.

I thought perhaps I was on one of those hidden camera shows or something.
But she was dead serious.   I was not able to accommodate her.  Not sure if she
wrote a nasty letter to Rocky Hill or anything.

People will get offended by the stupidest little things.

1. From 2002-2004 I was involved with an AM radio station in Southington, Connecticut. When I did on-air work I used the stage name "Jay Clark." I never once revealed that my real name was not "Jay Clark," but I had this woman call up the station one Friday who was upset with me for using the name "Jay Clark" because that was the name of her teenage son who had committed suicide. She was threatening to sue me and the radio station.

2. From 2008-2009 I was a cashier at Walmart in Southington. Sometimes I was asked to help out rounding up the shopping carts in the parking lot. One customer was really offended when I told her Sam Walton (the founder of Walmart) had died back in 1992. (She had made a comment that Sam Walton must be very pleased with the store because it was so clean and full of friendly, smiling employees). She was very upset and began crying.

3. I have a very loud speaking voice and some customers are offended by it. At a couple of my past jobs customers have complained to my various supervisors that I had "yelled" at them.

TheFugitive

Who is this Jay Clark who keeps yelling at me on my radio?   ???
