TJX is shuttering its AJ Wright Division. 71 store will close for good, while 91 others will be rebranded as either TJ MAXX, Marshall's, or HomeGoods.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-12-10/tjx-plans-to-convert-or-shut-its-a-j-wright-stores-cut-4-400-positions.html

Here is the list of stores closing that I was able to compile so far:

1. Bridgeport, Connecticut
2. Hamden, Connecticut
3. West Haven, Connecticut
4. Wethersfield, Connecticut
5. Fitchburg, Massachusetts
6. Malden, Massachusetts
7. Methuen, Massachusetts
8. New Bedford, Massachusetts
9. Quincy, Massachusetts
10. Somerville, Massachusetts
11. Springfield, Massachusetts (Lowe's Plaza)
12. Waltham, Massachusetts
13. Worcester, Massachusetts (Perkins Farm Plaza)
14. East Providence, Rhode Island
15. Amherst, New York
16. Buffalo, New York
17. Cheektowaga, New York

In addition they're shuttering The AJ Wright Headquarters in Framingham, Massachusetts and shuttering Distribution Centers in Fall River, Massachusetts and South Bend, Indiana.

Please feel free to add to the list.

This story specifies a couple of locations not on your list:

Medford, MA
Nashua, NH

Some good opportunities for Ocean State Job Lot...

I live in Fall River, Massachusetts...only a few minutes away from one of the two distribution centers.  I've heard it's been a bit chaotic there, as evident by one of the local RI news reports:

The story (with video report) from ABC6

Any opinions on if I should go down there tomorrow and take some pictures while it's still there?

I like AJ Wright, but I never find any clothes there. This past spring I bought 3 shirts in my size (4XL) at the store on Wolcott Street in Waterbury, CT but when I got them home and put them on they were too tight. They didn't have any bigger sizes for the shirts so I had to get my money back. The size I wear depends on how the shirts are made. I have some 3XL and 4XL, but my work shirts are 2XL.

The one in Waterbury, CT will not become Marshall's because there is already a vacant Marshalls across the street in the Mattatuck Plaza (the plaza with Big Lots, Savers, and Chuck E Cheese).

Medford, MA

When I originally posted about AJ Wright's demise I posted a several replies as I found links to stories that told which ones are closing. Then I condensed them all into my main post and deleted all my replies. Medford is the one I forgot to put in.

Per the Times Union (Albany NY) the stores in:

- Albany (Westgate Plaza, Central Ave, Opened 2008)
- Rotterdam (Hannaford Plaza Altamont Ave, Opened 2001)

Will be closed and the store in:

- Troy (Hudson Valley Plaza, Route 4, date not given) will be converted, though it is not known to which brand (there are none of any of the three in that area, so it could be any one of them).

Sad... they reminded me of Caldor in a way. I guess too much bling bling got stolen from their parking lots.

Amen jmcnamara96! Glad to see you noticed that too.  The parent corporation, TJX is doing the shuttering...not T.J. Maxx, one of TJX's other corporate brands.
