It would appear that Southington, CT is not getting hit by the recession. 9 new businesses have opened or will be opening by the end of 2010.

1. Liberty Pizza - Small little place opened in a small strip mall on Route 10 (Queen Street) one of the main drags in town. (previously a different pizza place that closed down because the owner had gambling debts. And before that it was an Italian Deli. That closed because the owner retired).

2. Wine-o-rama. - Wine-O-Rama (unsure of the correct name) opened in the same strip mall as Liberty Pizza. It relocated from near by Spring Street where it was called Conti's.

3. Queen Street Deli - The Queen Street Deli just opened next to Wildside Tattoo Parlor near the world famous Saint's Chili Dog place.

4. Pizza Heaven - Pizza Heaven is opening on Queen Street next to an auto repair shop. Pizza Heaven was previously Frascone's Italian Deli which moved to a bigger location on the Plainville side of Route 10.

5. VIP - VIP is a P.O.R.N. shop opening in November across the street from Walmart in the former Ethan Allen Furniture store.

6. BJ's - BJ's is breaking ground a new club on Spring Street next to Staples/Chilis. Ground Breaking will be in early 2010 and will open late in the fall.

7. Rite Aid - Rite Aid is opening its second Southington location on September 3rd. It's also the 3rd along Route 10.

8. New Restaurant - A new restaurant (no name yet) will be opening on West Main Street in the Plantsville section of Southington. It will be owned by the owner of Dean's Stove and Spa Store (also on West Main).

9. New Convience Store - A new convience store (no name yet) will be opening in the remaining half of the former Pattenbrook Diner which has been vacant for a long time. The other 1/2 was leased out last year to a roofing company. It's on 10 across from C.u.m.berland Farms.
