my name is Scott Banks i was born in 1988 the year Ames Bought the Zayre chain Wal Mart and Kmart lunched he Super Center compack and Venture closed all of its auto centers Molbe Oil bought Montgomery Ward in a 3 Billion Deal and Caldor lunched its new logo that year

ive been into the retile worl d for many years in 1991 i moled for a Sears Catlog  lol nothing im proud off

Here's a picture of me from my cameraphone at work, since my usual 2-megapixel Ames picture-taker was stolen...  I was born in 1986, and used to spend ALOT of time at Ames.  I'm in to retail management, and soon hope to actually be employed as a manager at Walgreens.  I have years of management experience in foodservice.  I am currently employed at Papa Gino's, recently demoting myself to a driver for the summer, mostly because of issues with the general management of the restaurant.  I'm single and looking, if that interests nice girls that might be here...:rolleyes:  Other than that I'm a pretty normal guy.

My name is Patrick and I live in St. George, Quebec Canada.  Yes i'm Canadian :tumble:;)  It probably looks surprising because I never really said it anywhere.  I travel to the U.S. about 8 to 10 days each year.  I follow the retail industry online and by seing what's happening in New England whenever i go there.  

I'm really proud of my website because it contains a large amount of information and pictures all done in only a few days a year.   It gives you guys an idea on how passionate i am about these stores and shopping centers.

I worked for the pharmacy chain that owns Brooks pharmacies and i've been working at Sears for about 4 years.  And i've been in retail since 1997.

Hi, I'm truviking05. I like closed stores too :) Yeah....this website's fun. I think Toys R Us is cool. I pretty much led a revolt when our vintage circa 1978 store relocated in 1999. I still love that old store. So I travel occasionally to a town about 30 minutes away to seethe only unremodeled TRU near me :) Maybe I'm just a little weird...:D

Ok, my real name is Andrew. I'm 13 and my interests are  antique bottles, music, electronics, and of course, department stores. I am single and not looking (only because I've given up), and I go to St. Mary's and my favorite band is The Who, second is Heart. I'm not sure what my favorite album by them is, either "Dreamboat Annie" or "Heart." I live in clarence, NY in the middle of nowhere and my Birthday is July 16, 1991. I love malls (more to look at the stores than tho look at the stuff IN them!!) and my Favorite TV show is "Whose Line is it Anyway?"

I know i tried like 5 different pics but I didn't like any of them. Oh well..I guess I'll have to go with this..i know It's dark, but it's the only non-blurry one I could find lol. weird..Sorry it's so big. My digitial always blows the pics up to megasizes for some reason

Well my real name is Mark Jones I'm 18 I was born on March 27, 1987 in Connecticut

I live in Torrington,Ct and my interests are cars,star trek,AND OF COURSE DEAD RETAIL STORES AND MALLS!

(and wal*mart is my worst enemy lol :insane: )

As you can see I guess I was lucky to be born in 1987 because I had the chance to shop at Ames,Bradlees,Caldor,NU Stars,Grossmans,D&L, oh and so many other stores I used to shop at before they went GOB

Also don't forget about the Naugatuck Valley Mall!

and I'm glad that this site keeps the memories of these former stores alive

AND DOESN'T SHOVE THE FACT THAT SO MANY STORES CLOSED UNDER THE RUG LIKE MOST PEOPLE DO!

Yeah i know, there was only one Caldor in ME/NH/VT ..!

yep isaw the pic they were mostley in the New York CT NJ DE MA NH areies and they were also in DC to untill 1998 but yea they were like Bradlees only they sold better stuff and really looked better then Bradlees but im not saying i hate bradlees i just think Caldor was better then them but i did like Bradlees:bounce:

The closed stores I've been to in my 16 years are Ames, Jamesway, Montgomery Ward, Jordan Marsh, Kmart(they closed the store in Kingston, that's why I put this up...heh), Caldor, and possibly Service Merchandise(not sure).
