Today I had a 2:30PM appointment at WMRD radio in Middletown, CT. My buddy was following the directions from his GPS. Lo and behold the GPS didn't know that part of River Road was closed, so I had to call the station to get directions. We had to go up and around to get to the station. When we got to the station the GM told us that, that part of River Road has been closed since 2001. (Of course the GM told us if my buddy had used the directions on the station's website we wouldn't have had that problem,).

Sounds like someone needs to download a map update. Sometimes they charge for it though...

Like my GPS is got in 2008, has a 2007 map. Nothing much to worry about in a years time I wouldn't think. So I'm not going to be paying for an update too soon.

I went to visit a friend in upstate New York a few weeks ago -- I used the VZ Navigator GPS on my phone and it was great.

I love GPS, but learned the human brain rules.

Before going somewhere, I usually study the maps at home, then print out what I need just In case and use good old road maps.

But I got somewhat lost twice in cities I thought I knew and a good deal made me buy a GPS.
