In this world dominated by big chain book stores - Borders, Barnes & Noble, and Waldenbooks it's nice to see an independent bookstore open.

Had to go to Shoprite today to buy my mom butter and cat litter. Stopped in the bookstore. Neat little store. Very unfriendly people working there. I wasn't even ackowledged when I walked in. It wasn't until I was walking out that they asked me if they could help me find something. Me thinks I'm gonna keep buying my books at Borders in Meriden.

Just read the article, didn't realize it was in the Shop Rite Plaza, did it take over the Marshalls space?????

Marc, its too bad the employees were so rude, makes it hard to get a business off the ground with this sort of customer service, I feel bad for the owner.

No. Marshall's was across the street in Big Lots Plaza. This is in the new building they built in the plaza from 2002-2004. It's in-between a Chinese Restaurant and H&R Block. That section of the plaza is anchored by Panara Bread.

Update: The book store has moved into the Stop & Shop Plaza on Route 6. It's in the part of the plaza where Job Lot and Dee's Laundry is. There new space is really tiny. Less than 950 Square feet.

Update: The bookstore closed earlier this year, though their stuff remains in the store.
