Well, my original theory of them not coming to the Northeast was blown out of the water. They've pushed into the area with great results over the past couple of years. The one here in Kingston does well, and as of right now is the farthest north(at least for NY). There's one in Poughkeepsie now, and the owner of that franchise has plans to open more locations throughout the Mid and Lower Hudson Valley.

No Sonic in Poughkeepsie as of yet. There is one just to the south in Wappinger Falls, NY though ;)

The Sonic you are referring to is in Wappinger Falls on Route 9, on the site of the former Applebee's...

I must be stupid. Everyday for a month beginning in October 2010 I drove by the Sonic in Wallingford and yet I never stopped in.

BTW I heard the new one in Manchester sucks. Cold food and stuff like that.

All of the Sonic stores in my region closed down recently as the properties were foreclosed on, there were rumors of embezzlement with the franchisee. It really stinks, because I liked me a Coney now and then! I already miss Sonic.

From what I heard if Sonic does open in Southington, CT it won't be on Queen Street - Route 10. They are looking at a location on Meriden-Waterbury Road - Route 322. They are looking at the property across the street from The Manor Inn Restaurant where there is an abandoned auto body shop and 2 run-down houses. If not there they are also looking at West Street - Route 229.

Same here, when I first heard about Sonic (the restaurant) I thought it was associated with Sonic the Hedgehog, but it wasn't. The Sonic restaurant chain has been around much longer than Sonic the Hedgehog!

That's true. I can go to any of the local grocery stores in my area - Shoprite, Stop & Shop, Price Chopper, Walmart Neighborhood Market and buy Roast Beef and cheese from the deli and get a package of hard rolls from the bakery and make a better Roast Beef Sandwich than you can get at Arby's.
