We have several Sonics here, and I ate there twice, that was all I could take. The hamburgers were really lousy, but the ice cream stuff was pretty good!

The sole reason you will never find a Sonic in the Northeast is simply due to the fact that we have such harsh winters.

Closest Sonic to NY is Virginia.

Well if you are in Southeast NY state , the closes one would be in Waretown, NJ on Route 9 in Ocean county.   This is the first Sonics to open in NJ.   I perfer to go to a Stewart Root Beer drive-in or the Circus Drive-In on Rt 35 in Wall Twsp before a Sonics.

There still are quite a few drive-in eateries in NJ.  It is just that they are seasonal and are mostly in Central and South Jersey for the shore tourist or in Sussex County like Jumboland and the Chatterbox for the mountain vacationers.

I am on a bowling team, and love Sonic's food.  So me and my teammates agreed to call our team the Sonics!  We hoped that we could get free food for "plugging" them...only in my dreams. :D:P

There aren't any here in Rhode Island, I see their commercials on the Turner stations on cable all the time. The food looks pretty decent. I don't see why they can't open one near our beaches from spring to fall, heck even the winter people would go for some nostalgia

Seriously.  They advertise like mad here in the northeast, yet there's none around.  I think it's some sort of ad campaign so when you actually travel near a Sonic you will go there because of all the hype.

Yeah....hopefully, since they opened a restaurant in laceytown, NJ (as pictured here) they will expand all over the state.
