This Ames is the sister location to the one later located at Bob's Discount Furniture. The Lincoln St. Ames was once located here at the Lincoln Plaza, where Dick's Sporting Goods is now. I remember driving by it all the time on I-290 when I was a kid. When Caldor's (Bobs Furniture) closed in the late 90's, Ames moved over there and the building and signage stayed up for a while, so it was like seeing two Ames across the street from each other. It was eventually demolished and renovated for Lincoln Plaza's new look. I remember it looking much like a former Zayre.
