Demolition

All photography and text sent in by <a href="http://www.amesfanclub.com/forum/member.php?action=viewpro&member=Chris">Chris</a> - Ames was a great discount store. I prefer Ames over major department stores like JCPenney, Sears, and Filenes. To me, Ames was a true department store, with everything. I was so upset that a months after their new Dollar Bargains department opened up, the store closed. I think my favorite department was the Dollar Bargains department, and the Stationary, Toy, Great Value, and Seasonal departments. The Newington Ames, between 1999 and 2001 was the ONLY department store in town until Wal-Mart opened up across the street in the former Bradlees in 2001. Wal-Mart stole Ames' reputation with their numerous donations, and special programs. Ames still did well, though. Ames will ALWAYS be my favorite department store, no matter what. Ames forever!!!
