the westgate mall in brockton mass on westgate drive off rt 24 off rt. 27 and built in 1963 and had a 112,000 sf Bradlees (it must have been expanded), a Child World, a 73,000 square foot Store that became Jordan marsh in 1977, a woolworth and marshalls. the mall has 70 stores and was old and was dying. child world closed august 1992. jordan marsh became macy's in spring 1996. a 110,000 sf sears was built in 1998 or 99 or so in hte mall and marshalls relcoated to a better prat of the mall. bradlees closed in early 2001 and thbe mall got a 50 percent vacancy rate. the mall was remodeled and imrpoved in the early 2000s as filene's razed the bradlees and opened a 140,000 sf store in its place in march 2003. best buy opened a 30,000 sf store in the mall in early 2004. old navy opened a couple years before best  buy. kb toys opened in late 1990s. the mall is better now and filene's becomes macy's in 2006 and the 73,000 sf macy's closes early 2006. outside the mall is a plaza that once had chuck e cheese that closed and has hometown buffet and just got model's sporting good and  has papa gino's. the outside had Home quarters that opened in early 1990s and closed 1999 and got rebuilt into lowe's in late 2001. the purity supreme outside was 51,000 sf and closed in 1996 and became AC moore and another store. outside is texas roadhouse.
