the natick mall opened in 1966 and started out with Filene's and sears and other smaller stores. the mall got outdated and rebuilt into a larger 2 level over 1 million square foot mall in late 1994 with a 210,000 sf Jordan marsh that was once in the shoppesr world nearby, a 211,000 sf larger Filene's, a larger Sears and a new lord and taylor and the mall was updated iwth 170 stores and a warner brothers store even, and KB toys
Kb toys is gone I heard. Warner bros store clsoed in 2001 and Jordan marsh became Macy's in 1996. the mall will be expanded soon with a nordstrom, 100 more stores and nieman macus.

The mall has sales per sq. ft. of nearly twice the national average, so the Lord & Taylor is pretty safe. I can't imagine it becoming a Nordstrom, seeing that one is being built just a few hundred feet away. If Lord & Taylor does collapse, though, a Saks Fifth Avenue (should they also get back on their feet) would be a great tenant for the space.

I went to this mall last week and loved the new section of the mall which has a huge waterfountain and is UPSCALE! the new section had floored carpeting. Neiman MArcus is expensive as a coat there is $1,300 and Nordstrom is not as expensive as that but its expensive and Nordstrom has that restuarant!
