the hanover mall opened in 1971 with a 82,500 square foot zayre, a 62,000 sf woolworth, a 75,000 sf almy's and a sears and with 70 stores and with out of parcel stores child world and purity supreme. woolworth closed and became Jordan marsh in 1983 or so. Almy's closed 1987 and quickly became Filene's. Zayre became Ames in 1989. the mall was remodeled in 1998 and the food court became old navy. child world closed 1992. there is a cinema there. purity supreme became Officemax and kitchen Etc (which closed in late 2004 and became a relocated petco). Kb toys opened 1997. filene's was expanded to 110,000 sf and remodeled in the late 1990s. jordan marsh became macy's in spring 1996 and closed in 1997 and was demolished and rebuilt into JC Penny. ames closed late 2002. Filene's becomes macy's in spring 2006. ames became wal-mart. ac moore opened. the mall is like 600,000-700000 sf
