I heard that hess' closed 15 yeras ago and the FIlene's in Schenectady in rotterdam and maybe in Poughkeepsie and or Kingston were Hess'

Never heard of this store. When I saw the listing, I thought of the gas station

More like 20 years ago. 15-20 years ago I guess.

I've heard of them, but that's about it. I know many of their locations became Boscov's.

actually the Poughkeepsie Filene's was G. Fox and the one in Kingston was Hess' and Hess became Filene's in 1993.

What was hess' like

Not all of them. The one in Plymouth Meeting Pa. is a Boscov's today.
