Anyone remember these two small chains?  There was a Star's in Wallingford by the bowling alley.  Can't remember where Top's was?

i dont know much about this chain i know caldor bought out many former locations sometime in the 70's maby there was one in spring vally that became a caldor and its now a kohls kohls did reused teh old caldor sign only putting up there logo

     Hmmm...Star's I believe had a store in West Hartford, CT... and Torrington and Wallingford, CT.

yep teh one in West Hartford became a ames and is now vacant

I remember an article of the new bedford newspaper saying  a stars department store was nera downtown and STuarts occupied for a year.

Style is Caldor but that indeed used to be a Star's store.

I know there was a Stars in Wallinford, yes next to the bowling alley.  Tops sounds so familiar, was ther one maybe in Berlin or newington???I know I have heard of them.

Yep and that Star's became an indoor race track, The building is still intact, but it's pretty bare. :yup:

Star's never updated their stores since they opened. I always noticed they always looked old, inside and out. It should've dawned on me that they were a struggling company in the 90's because of this. It never did.:no:

I still remember the flashy signs, they were GARISH, but cool, I wish I could find a picture of them.

Later Caldors then Ames. Sat vacant for many years. Now Price Rite.
