We had one in Niagra Falls called the Rainbow Centre Factory Outlet Mall, a 2-level mall that opened in 1982 and was never renovated. Ever. It had so many rainbows and bright colors you would think it was built in the 70's. Every Christmas season we would go to the Winter Festival of lights (Discontinued after 2000) the Niagara Falls Convention Center (closed in 2001 and is now a casino) and then the mall to warm up and look around, usually going to the mall's burger king for dinner. But unforunately, as the american side's tourist attractions began shutting down and the area diminished in the late 1990's-early 2000's, so did the mall. The first to go was the falls Street Faire building, which was built in 1991 and closed a year later. It sat completely abandoned and deteriorating in horrible condition untill 2004 when it was ripped down to it's skeleton and completely rebuilt as NF's new convention center (excuse me, Conference Center) Next to go was the Splash Water Park, which opened in 1989 and closed in 1997. (Currently it's being renovated) Next to meet it's demise was the Failed AquaFalls project-which was started in 1999. But unfortunately, the city ran out of money and the hole dug for it just sat for years. It was filled in only a few months ago. And then-The mall.

The rainbow mall closed for good in September, 2000. By this time, most businesses had closed, and the few that were left were given the boot. But however, one tennant stayed-Off Track Betting, which opened in 1993. This is the only tennant that stayed. And since it is right in the middle of the mall, the vacant mall is wide open! Yes, all the doors are unlocked. But, When I did peek thru one of the doors one night I saw a night watchman walikng around, so It would probably be a good idea to stay away.

The VF Factory Outlet in Reading Pa. has two main buildings, both five floors, connected with two walkways on the 2nd and 3rd floor along with small stores in the parking lot. I'm not sure when it opened but its nice there. Theres always nice clothes at Vanity Fair and the cafeteria has great restuarants. Gianni's Pizza is thee best pizza! Its one of my five favorite pizza places. The cafeteria also has a McDonalds, a Subway, a hoagie place and many others. Some of my favorite stores there are Vanity Fair clothes closeout stores, Pepperidge Farm Thrift Store, Cheap for That, Brachman's Snacks, The Nick Nack Shop and out in the smaller building, The Black and Decker store and Gold Toe. Whats annoying about the place is that the maps are unaccurate so get a brochure map if your there. ;)
