The old Filene's at Crossgates Mall in Albany is now Macy's. Not much has changed. Still looks like a Filenes inside and out. Only difference is the name.

mall security not caring is odd, but then danbury has less than 100,000 people and when you get to cities that have 100,000 people or more, mall security gets more tougher, like I got in trouble in the holyoke mall 3 years ago for taking pictures outside and I got in trouble at the great northern mall in syracuse too!

The Kingston, NY store will officially become Macy's on September 9th.

no for kingston closing as it does not already have a macy's. when it becomes macy's is when marshall fields is scheduled to become macy's (2 weeks ago I went to the kauffmann's in greece new york and under this white rapping was the new macy's logo).

I still hope something good gones in the one in danbury? will it be nordstrom?

Here's the now vacant Filene's in Crystal Mall in Waterford, Connecticut. There happens to be a Macy's in this mall which might explain why this location is now closed. Note the heavily 1970's style of the entrance!

here is the filene's in the salem nh rockingham park mall vacant as of april 21, 2006. The store was 180,000 sq.ft. and was at first 150,000 sq.ft. when it opened in late summer 1991.

FLAGSHIP FILENE'S in DOWNTOWN CROSSING IN BOSTON ON WASHINGTON ST. I Was there April 21, 2006 and the store was 70 to 80 percent off and is directly across macy's on the same side of the road. the store is 656,000 sq.ft. and is rumored to become either target, model's, a supermarket, housing, nordstrom etc. and it is in the national historic register. on that clock notice the filene's cursive writing logo. filene's basement is below and will not close.
