Target removing self-checkouts from stores

Target is removing self-checkout lanes from stores and going back to the traditional manned checkout.

The PR spin on this is that they are merely going back to what they were doing prior to COVID when shoppers were attempting to minimize contact.

Press reports say the real reason is skyrocketing theft and shrink. 

If that's the reason we'll likely see other chains following suit soon.

It appears this is only being done in a select few stores. This is common when shoplifting is a big problem.
