Sorry for the radio silence... life... got in the way.  Store locator has been updated to work with modern browsers.  Also created a new google based store locator at the bottom.  Slowly combing through the addresses and lining up any with misplaced pins on the map.  Jason Gallagher sent me an 80s store list of Florida locations among others.  Current count is about 949 locations.  Lets keep it going!  If you have ANY store lists/directories/locations please send them along.  Would really like to build this out to every store.

Thanks for all of your hard work bringing this back, Chris.  We all certainly understand about how life gets in the way.

I was able to go on and confirm that the former Zayre store that I helped to convert over to an Ames after the merger was at 5800 Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville, Florida (#2628).  I had long thought the store was on University Blvd, which is the other street bordering the parking lot on the other side. It appears that the location is now a very large pizza place that looks nothing like a former Ames or Zayre store.  Either the building was extensively remodeled, or perhaps it was torn down and replaced.

Ames had me down there for all of August and the first half of September in 1989.  I am breaking into a sweat just looking at it again.

Makes me all the more glad that a fully functional archive of the original Ames Fan Club Store Locator exists on the Wayback Machine because rewriting all that HTML code would've taken ages if both the archived and original webpages were lost.

Very happy to have the locator back online and accessible through the Ames Fan Club.
It's the same store, only without the J and the Way.   <- Common joke about Jamesway stores that became Ames stores.

new user here, longtime lurker of this forum. glad the Store Locator is back up and running, hated having to use the Internet Archive for that. didn't mind using it, just thought it was tedious to do

Okay, I thought this was pretty funny.

Kmart still maintains an eCommerce website.  www.kmart.com

At the bottom of the home page is a tab that says "Store Locator".

https://www.kmart.com/stores

Click on it and it brings you to a blank white page with a Kmart banner over it. ;)
