Discuss everything about the FOX network and its TV shows here.

Used to really enjoy The Simpsons and Family Guy . Both shows have really gone downhill in recent years. Only watch it on occasion. I'll also watch NASCAR and NY Giants Football on  FOX. Rumors that The Jay Leno show will be moving to FOX. As evidenced by the recent tragedy in Boston FOX is not prepared to cover a major breaking news story. My local FOX 61 here in Hartford, CT started out simulcasting coverage from the internet feed of CBS 4 out of Boston before that crashed and they switched over to coverage from CNN. FOX 61 is also a CNN affiliate.

The shows I usually enjoy watching on FOX are as followed:

The Simpsons
Family Guy
American Dad
The Cleveland Show
Hell's Kitchen
Kitchen Nightmares
Hotel Hell
MasterChef

I certainly agree with Marc, the FOX network has gone downhill in recent years. I think that American Idol had a great run, and I think it's about time they pass the torch.

My local FOX affiliate, WLUK-TV, FOX 11 News of Green Bay, Wisconsin, has one of the better newscasts in the Green Bay/Appleton/Fox River Valley market (#75). FOX 11 Sports the Green Bay Packers a lot during the football season.

Fox had some of the best kids shows back in day when Saturday mornings were all about cartoons, toy and junk food ads. Some the noteworthy ones that think of at the top of my head were Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Eeek the Cat, Life With Louie, X-Men, Spider-Man just to name a few.

My local FOX affiliate, WUTV-TV Fox 29 (cable channel 6) of Buffalo, NY was one of the last Fox affiliates to get a newscast (produced by Buffalo, NY NBC affiliate, WGRZ-TV) prior to that they never had a newscast at 10pm (they used just show Seinfeld reruns in that time slot).

If you can find a copy in your local library, Outfoxed by Alex Ben Block is a really good read.
It tells the story of the founding and early days of the Fox network in the 1980's.  Including their
battles with Joan Rivers, ongoing censorship debates over Married With Children, nervous-to-panicky
affiliates, jokes about tinfoil on rabbit ears, and a whole slew of disastrously failed shows.

Block is a business writer and he covers things more from the nuts-and-bolts business side of things
than from the E! News perspective.

One of the best stories was how in the late 1980's Fox actually put in the highest bid to
yank Monday Night Football away from ABC.   It did not happen because then-Cleveland Browns
owner Art Modell was Chairman of the NFL's Television Committee. He was also too cheap to pay for cable.

Fox' then-Cleveland affiliate WOIO-TV 19 did not come in well at Modell's house.
When their proposal came before him he responded that he "did not want his team's games on
that crappy station with the fuzzy signal" and nixed the deal.

Bobby's World, the cartoon that aired on FOX's childrens' block, FOX Kids in the 1990s, and later on the FOX Family Channel, now currently airs on Kabillion On-Demand.

The cartoon features Howie Mandel, as the voice of the show's title character, Bobby Generik.

Howie Mandel also did the voice of Gizmo in the Gremlins movies, and hosted the NBC game show Deal or No Deal, and is a judge on NBC's America's Got talent.
