Ahold looking to expand

The parent company of Stop & Shop and Giant/PA and Giant/MD is looking at expansion opportunities, including outside its existing geographic footprint. We know well their failed efforts in ME and VT, and BI-LO and Tops were flops, so what's different now?

They are already expanding by adding a bunch of Genuardis locations that will become Giant [PA].

By acquiring 16 Genuardi's stores, it's safe to say it's expanding Giant [PA] presence in SE Pennsylvania
