whats left after Caldor closed well in 2000 Kohlsn bought 32 locations and Ames bough 10 while Kmart took 6

Walmart also took over some too along with the evile Home Depot

well these pictures are from 1999  Caldor was useing these things since the early 90's Maby late 80's cause my caldor had them too my caldor opened in 1966so yea they keeped the store up to date

I once saw these old cash registers inside an old Jamesway I had the oppertonity to go inside. Okay, somebody else broke the window. :bigsmile: Anyway, they where Sanyos.

New Jersey Is also home tO SIX vacant Caldors includint this one in Woodbrige

the one in Newgtion CT sat Vacant for awile there are plaes to tear it down

and the last Caldor is in Middle Town new York this store is in a arie that has a Kamrt Wal Mart Target Kohls and there a big Mall near there too

this Caldor is probley gonna sit Vacant for a looooong time it has been there vacant since 1999

My mom and I went to Toys 'r' Us in the Caldor plaza. We went the back way where the swamps are in back and surveyors were looking at the swamp land. I believe this is for Sam's Club.

Bad News, look like the makeover for the Newington fair plaza is a bust. I asked my "people" at Toys r us this week about it, they told me Sams Club has backed off on the project, i keep everyone posted. Caldor1999, if you want a pic of the plaza, go under the landlords website, they got  a few their.

I think that no one is smart enough to see what they have for the offering at Newington Fair. The 'Fair' is just a 'dead mall'. Sure, they swiped up Ames right away, why can't they ever sell Caldor to anyone? They can do a lot of many new things with that plaza. Kohls would be nice. Of course all the good stores are located out of town. Newington is 'blah' when it comes to stores with good service to add to it.

if Kohls wanted that Caldor they would have snached it up already like they did in 2000 if a store has been sitting there for 6 years i dont think any ones gonna want it the same thing is happening to the caldor in Middle Town New York it to is in a aria with malls and big box retilers thats why know onw wants that caldor not to metion the store size is pritty small thoyughs to caldor are not going any were soon

I believe it sold tools like Sears did.

it was NOTHING LIKE SEARS well when it came to tools and suchj yea but Cal;dor was its own Discount / Dept store
it really stood out more then Bradlees Ames and Jamesway thats what made it a great store

www.chartweb.com. Thats the website of the owners of the plaza. Click on shopping centers. i tried to email them and the town on whats going on with the plaza, nothing lol. It the only plaza on the berlin turnpike that is being neglected.

this is the Caldor that was in fairfield Ct. IT is now Kohl's.

there was no Caldor in Maine or vermont and they only had oen in NH: Bedford
