The New Job Lot in Bristol, Connecticut will be opening on Black Friday in the former TJMAXX location in The Bristol Plaza.

That's a sharp looking Job Lot! It's amazing how they managed to get back in to Bristol. They were lucky. After fighting for the mall store to remain open, instead they ended up with a better deal. They already have a new facade made for them, and I'm sure they'll use TJ Maxx's fixtures/general appearance.

The new Job Lot in Bristol is open. I haven't been there yet. Looked way too crowded. Anyway their website says the Grand Opening will be on the 28th aka Black Friday.

Went to the new Job Lot in Bristol today. I like it. :-) It's very spacious, not cramped like the one on Queen Street in Southington. Since it is the old TJ MAXX the layout is unusual. They have 9 registers. And most were open. And it looks like they now have computer screens at the registers.

That store is in Coventry, RI, it is in fact a former Wal-Mart. It shares the building with Tractor Supply Co. Here's the Live Maps pic:

Also, on a side note, this is right next to a very old abandoned Kmart that has been closed since 1994! It even has the old 70's logo labelscar on it!

Most Kmarts in my area closed in 1994, except for the former Venture stores and the Super Kmarts, which closed in 2002.

After I applied for a job at A&P in Berlin, CT my dad and I went to the Ocean State Job Lot in the same plaza. What a small store that is. From the bathroom I get the impression that Job Lot used to be Foodmart. The mirror and sink they have in there look like the mirror and sink they have in Big Lots in Bristol, which used to be a Waldbaum's Foodmart.

Ocean State Job Lot will open soon in the vacant Circuit City on Woodbury Avenue in Portsmouth NH.  I can't wait to see what will be the final look of the store.
