Ames still fashionable??

At the onset of the new year a received a pleasant surprise of $37.73 from Ames Dept. Stores.   They claim to owe me more money are are planning on paying it in the future...we shall see.

While I was home in NY over the holiday, my younger brother claimed he found some new dress pants in my  closet that he's been wearing.  I checked them out and realized they were pants I bought shortly before the closing of Ames back in 02'.  They didn't have my exact size so I bought a size or two bigger, assuming I would gain a few pounds and be able to wear em.  Lucky for me it was my younger brother who plumped up a bit and is now able to fit in them...surprise, surprise they are actually somewhat stylish!

Did anyone ever find out anything about the guy in FL who claimed that he had purchased the rights to the name and was going to start opening stores again?  (His name wasn't Bernard Madoff was it???)  :no:
