Why do alot of posters here say JC Penny? when its spelled JC Penney?

I would guess that Sears/K-Mart would go sooner than JC Penney. But nothing would surprise me anymore.

kmart ant going any ware ift that was the case why whould they be geting redy to put a new shoe section in the one in my town or yet put in new check outs update ther floors and rip out the fount entrance and and put a new one in

JC Penny wont go anywere anytime soon im more woried about sears/kmart i really think sears needs to ditch kmart and markit themselfs well

I agree with you Caldor1999. I think Sears does well with their appliances, electronics, and automotive departments but not much else. Everytime I walk into a KMart I am shocked that they are still around. It seems like Walmart and Target has them beat on prices on just about everything. The electronics section in KMart is a joke. I think Sears/KMart is going to be in serious trouble in the not so distant future.

I think I remember making a similar post in another thread a while back, but I really don't think JCPenney (as Eddie noted above, it is spelled 'Penney' and not 'penny') is in any danger of closure in the foreseeable future. :tumble:

Yeah, JCPenney is in better financial shape than some of the other department stores. Plus their recent sale ads have been really good--lower pricing or so it seems.

I think Kmart is just delaying the inevitable. Sadly, Walmart and other specialty shops simply offer better service, selection, and price.

Probably not going anywhere this year... but in five years I say they're gone.
