I wasn't even aware that there were any more locations left that weren't Supercenters.

Our Walmart relocated to a super center in the late 90's. Another Supercenter was built in 2007 just a couple of miles down the road, so we have two. The second one was built because they wanted to take some of the strain off of the first one (very busy location), but it hardly had an effect on it.

Here's what happened to the first ever Wal-Mart discount store at 719 Walnut St. in Rogers, Ark.

The classic pic on top is from walmartstores.com, bottom one is from panaramo.com.

I just saw the Walmart docu_mentary (censored word)? "The High Cost of Low Prices" last night. It's safe to say I've renewed my distaste for the company once again. I'm back to avoiding shopping there.

jmcnamara96

Wow must be late80s early 90s

videogamer75

Wal-Mart has been found using even older trucks before. Look up ''old wal-mart trucks'' on Webshots.com. There are actually a bunch of classic 1960s/1970s Wal-Mart trucks with the old ''Western font'' logo sitting behind Wal-Mart's home office in Bentonville, AR!

jmcnamara96

wow those are old cool tho

nims57

I know it was called "Sam's Wholesale Club" in 1989. Wal-Mart's logo changed in 1992.

The person who made that movie illegally and was sued by the company. Him and his entire family are banned for life from Walmart/Sams Club.

This is a picture I took today of the brand new Wal-Mart Supercenter in Vineland, NJ. There was originally a Two Guys here, which later became Rickel and Jamesway.

Today in the mail lego is holding a contest at local Wal*Mart to make lego snowflakes i hate  Wal*Mart but love legos what should i do

I think Wal-Mart is a great store and I continue to shop there and will continue to do so. By the way, Target isn't good either, they don't unionize their stores, they import almost everything from China as well as use sweatshops....

nims57

The "Big 3" all create blight by moving their stores so much. Do you know that in Ogdensburg, NY there is a Kmart that has been abandoned since 1990 and is about to collapse. This one relocated. I will never buy my food at a hypermarket (supercenter) either. I do like Wal-Mart and Kmart but not Target. Their stores are in shady shopping centers.

videogamer75

Most of the Wal-Mart merchandise is the SAME THING that Target and Kmart sell. I'm not saying everything is good quality, but it's not ALL crap.

wwefan101

not true walmat dont got the same  stuff as kmart our kmart dont even sell coumpter games any more i perfer walmart at least thers stuff i like at walmart    whats at kmart for a male  in his 20s

I bet they're really upset they can't shop there anymore... Not.

Funny, I never could find anything about them getting sued, even on the Wiki page.

Wwefan101, I mean they all have the same BRANDS of merchandise, for example Coca-Cola, Colgate, etc.

wwefan101

Of course all stores are going to carry those items... and Walmart is not always carrying them for the cheapest either. On many occasions I've spotted better sales in stores that are stereotyped as "higher stores" than Walmart. All it takes to discover this is simply shopping around at some stores that are not Walmart.

But then there is the fact that a lot of other stores carry more respectable brand name merchandise. Stores like Target and Magic Mart advertise quality brand merch at low prices rather than cheap merch at cheap prices. I'd say just about any store has Walmart beat in clothing... with their cheap sweatshop made products. Their selection is nothing compared to other stores.

Just my two cents.
