Toys r us in Huntington West virginia and it appears to have opened like in 1988 or something like that. it has a cheap remodel. I THOUGHT THIS ONE WOULD HAVE BEEN BROWN!!! (huntington was very run down). it is really in barboursville near the mall.

huntington and it did not have an orange sign saying entrance. no orange or whatever!!!!

I'm discouraged you didn't uncover any "left behind" stores. Seems like a bulk of the Ohio stores were remodeled after 2000, mostly given their fair of post-Concept and cheap remodels. I look forward to your next set of photos - I'm curious to see were you're going next.  

It would seem those "L-corner" variants (with the glass exits) were from the early 80s up until 84 when they started favoring the frontal look. I'm not too sure about this, it could've been a size ordeal - maybe smaller stores were granted with that corner-favored look. I'll have to continue studying those trends based on your resourceful pictures.

Toys "R" Us; Westport, Connecticut. Taken yesterday (5.14.2007). Located on Post Road East in Westport Plaza, about .7 miles off the I-95, on US-1.

This is an oldie - well sort of. D_fife tells us this was built in 1992 in a former Child World. It's also a cramped store. I didn't go inside, but it seemed to have supermarket aisles from the outside. I'll bet this store has had very little renovations since. This would be my first trip here ever!

Still has the second-generation (early 1990s) motif including Geoffrey! Like the nearby Norwalk store built the same year, this one is kind of a supplement to it. Unlike the Norwalk store, this one has the Geoffrey plate still on the building!

This is probably the most unusual store in the state and also an outliar. It's not near any malls, and it's almost a mile off Interstate 95. It also has the pick-up on the frontage and has *two* entrances and an exit door.
