I read that Toys R Us (along with Babies R Us) will be opening a store in North Haven, CT later this year.  I wonder if their Hamden store will close.

Went by the Toys 'R Us in New Hartford, NY last night on my way home from work, and saw that once again they are totally rebuilding the Front Outside Facade of the store. I had to take a Double Take, because at first glance I thought that they had GOB. I couldn't believe it. I thought to myself that the Front Facade was rebuilt just a few years ago, but thinking more about it, I would peg the remodel somewhere in the early 2000's. I'm sure someone here knows the exact year. But still, just seems odd that they are putting more money into remodeling this store after a short period of time.

I read it in online job listings.  Also I was told by the developer of North Haven Commons (which will also include a Best Buy).  The Hamden Mart, where the Hamden Toys R Us is located is undergoing a major renovation.  The red arched facade of BonTon and JoAnn is already removed.  Hamden Bowling Lanes will close at the end of the month, leaving a 32,000 sq ft empty space.  It wil be interesting how the shopping center will look at the end of the year, whether or not Toys R Us will stay.

The North Haven Commons listing of RIPCO shows some stores that will be opening there by the end of the year (such as Toys R Us), if you click "brochure".

Wow! So the one in Montgomery, AL is still a brown one! Dan, it's good to see you back on the scene! How excited were you when you found this? I'm still very disappointed about the remodeled York, PA one.

yo dan, that brown TRU is just so beautiful. Doesnt corporate see how amazing that store looks compared to the tan stuco 2008 look? PUKE!

I wish i had business in Alabama or some reason to go. I dont think the wife would approve me flying from NY to Alabama to see a brown TRU. LOL. Oh how I want to though...

How was the inside? Still the old style with the walk around the aisle before you get dumped out in the store?

Any interior pictures?

I still need to take a ride to the one up near boston.

Thanks for posting all these wonderful photos.

Whats the next one on your agenda?

Sadly, ones as preserved as that are near gone. Notice how they removed Jeoffrey on that store. Anyway, you really need to see the one in Clay -- last report says it's still 100% preserved. Just go take a ride up there (wife or not, LOL!).

George, the one in Woburn still has old look albeit repainted. I visited in March, so go check those pictures out.

I'm not too sure, but the one in Tallahassee, Florida may still be brown/rainbow. Dan's scope to track these down are dedicated as they come.
