I think we all saw this coming with the economy in freefall, I remember at one time Tweeter was always on the televison with commercials and such. They seemed  aimed at the more affluent with home theater set ups and expensive car stereos.  They lost the sponsorship of the Great Woods venue which is now the Comcast center. While it is sad to see any chain close up, having never shopped here I can't say I feel any great loss.

Anyone remember their jingle "Tweeter :drum solo: for times like these"
"Through the millennia, the Time Lords of Gallifrey led a life of ordered calm, protected against all threats from lesser civilisations by their great power. But this was to change. Suddenly, and terribly, the Time Lords faced the most dangerous crisis in their long history..."--the Doctor

The Tweeter near me closed in 2005 and is still vacant, was a former A&P.

Better Bedding moved their Newington store to the old Tweeter location a few weeks ago. Basically, they moved one building over from where they were. The Tweeter building is closer to the Berlin Turnpike, whereas the former Better Bedding was set back farther.

The only Tweeter I ever remember is the Seekonk store. I think it might still be sitting there unused with the signage.

I remember the catch phrase. "Tweeter: Audio, video and a boatload of know how"

I never shopped there as it was fairly pricey, though still sad more places closed.

The Tweeter in Waterford is now an Eblens clothing store.  Tweeter was elsewhere in the mall before it was remodelled in the 90s, when they got their own exterior entrance. Previous to Tweeter it was a sit in Burger King, which then moved to the foodcourt.
