hears the super stop & shop in Danbury CT idk when it opend but its been tehr for as long as i cann rememebr might have opend in the mid to late 80's

I'm pretty sure that this design originated with a store in Walpole, MA which opened in November 2002. The company's previous style, the colonial house-style with fake windows, originated on Cape Cod in the early 1990s, with the Framingham, MA OCP store opening as one of the first "mainland" stores in 1994. Prior to that style, they used a somewhat boxier form in the early-90s seen on the outside of the Natick, MA and (IIRC) Revere, MA stores.

Before these three unique styles, you had the mostly boxy stores seen in many of these photos.

That Stop & Shop in Unionville (along with the Small Strip Mall with the McDonald's and the Bagel Shop in it) is being torn down and will be replace by a much bigger Stop & Shop and a New McDonald's. It was previously an Edward's.
