Bonanza / Ponderosa

There used to be a Hoss' Steak and Seafood near Century III Mall.
It bugged out some time ago.  I think most of them are in the central
part of the state around Johnstown/Altoona/State College.  No connection
to Dan Blocker that I know of.

Bonanza and Ponderosa, as well as other buffet chains have suffered a lot during the pandemic.

Several locations have closed (including the last two in Maine). According to their locator, there are only 5 remaining Bonanza steakhouses open in the United States.  Approximalely 16 Ponderosa restaurants...

I have an extended family member who lives in Missouri and who worked at Ponderosa as a young man.  He is still in touch with several of his former co-workers, and last I heard they were all planning a trip to visit one of the last remaining stores a few hours away in Indiana.
