Breaking News: Re Bristol Centre Mall

The City of Bristol has won their court case against Ocean State Job Lot again. This will clear the way for the mall to finally be demolished. :-) City officials hope to put the demolition contract out to bid shortly. No official word when Job Lot has to be out.

That's terrific news. Maybe they'll have the most of the mall down by New Years. I say most because McDonald's and Sherwin Williams still have to move. And I saw a similar article with the October 7th date in the Bristol Press.

The mall has been a white elephant since it opened in 1969. It was never really very successful at all. No highway access is a major reason why.

If I can get the time off from Price Chopper I'm gonna go get some pictures from the event. Nick is unable to attend the live event due to circumstances beyond his control. I'm not gonna make any promises though. If I'm not able to go either, one of us will at least try to get down there after the fact and get pictures of the aftermath.
