Wow, I had wondered why all our Smokey Bones all seemed to close at one time.  We knew a great manager of our Red Lobster who was hand-picked to start the chain here in Memphis and (since I don't eat red meat) never got to one to see if it was any good.

Does anyone know if the whole chain went out of business or have any info?

To my knowledge, there were 156 Smokey Bones locations.  I "think" that 78 of them all closed on the same day without any notice.  I believe (at least for now) that the remaining locations are still open, BUT the parent company is seeking to unload them citing that they did not feel the barbeque segment of the food industry was profitable enough to continue.  Does that info help??:huh:

It's not an abandoned restaurant, but there's an Asian Restaurant on North Gulph Road next to the Holiday Inn Express (formerly The Macintosh Hotel) in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania that still looks like the Denny's that was once located there. After Denny's it became "The King of Prusssia Restaurant" and now it's an Asian Restaurant. I wish I had remember to snap a pic-chaw of it. Anyway my friend George Brusstar who works for a mobile DJ service is the un-offical historian for King of Prussia and he's the one who told me for certain that the Asian Restaurant was a former Denny's, which is what I had expected.

Mapquest still has the Asian Restaurant listed as "The King of Prussia Restaurant" and the GPS I had in my rental Trailblazer still had The Holiday Inn Express listed as The Macintosh Hotel.

Yet another former Hardee's sitting vacant.  Looks to have been used at least as one other business after it's Hardee's days, and that place didnt fair any better.  This one is in Irwinton GA

Except for the roof, I'd say that was a vintage Pizza Hut.  The center section of the roof seems too large, though...

Since it was mentioned in a recent post.  Here is a picture of an abandoned Pizza Hut, and yes, the roof lines do look similar, but original built Sizzlers did have their own distinctive look from that of Pizza Hut.

could have been one looooong before that plaza is home to many fromer stores such as caldor waldabums and cocanuts
