Didn't see a topic for this - but we have several older theaters in the Albany area - including a couple drive-ins that are still open.

This is the Madison theater - on Madison Avenue (of course) - it has been divided into several parts.  It was closed a couple times, and was almost torn town to expand the CVS next door but has been re-opened at this point.

BillyGr

Actually, this one is in North Adams, Mass. on the main street.

BillyGr

This one is on Delaware Avenue in Albany - it also has been subdivided (into 8 theaters).

Actually, if you go to cinematreasures.com, and see the name wheelieman, that's me!!!:D

Top is a shot of Proctor's theater in Sechenectady.

The second is another theater in Schenectady, about a block or two further down State St. (State & Erie Blvd).
I saw no name ID on it, but it looks like it still is used occasionally.

I have some pics to share
Here's the United Artists Grant Plaza 9 theater (which is non-stadium seating)

heres the lobby

Heres the United Artists Oxford Valley 14 theater

Now this used to be a 10 plex, they added 4 screens in 2004 I believe, here is a pic of the whole building (The left part im guessing is the added part) also its all stadium seatin, that was done also in the early 2000s

ALSO here is a pic of it before the 4 screen expansion from http://www.maglietta.org/mysocalledlife/movies/ua_ov.htm

Obviously these 2 opened up around the same time in the early 90s .

No picture, but The Drive-in Theater in Southington, CT is reopening this summer. It's owned by the town and will be staffed by volunteers.

In Connecticut - Showcase Cinemas (National Amusements) is now called RAVE MOTION PICTURES - all locations Southington, Berlin, North Haven, and the one in Manchester which was called Cinema de Lux by Showcase Cinemas.

Funny, in Ohio they removed the "Showcase" from the signage, moved the "Cinemas" to the center of the facade, and now they're just "Cinemas."  Short and sweet, I guess...

I've heard Rave Motion Pictures theaters are very nice, but I've never been to one.

We have a local chain in Cincy called Danbarry Dollar Saver Cinema.  After they completed Anderson Towne Center, I went to the groundbreaking for a new project they were building.  It was supposed to include a movie theater and parking garage, but no work has been done on it for ~2 years.

The Strand 5 Theatre is owned by Frank Theatres.

Frank Theatres also has theatres in PA (in Gettysburg and Montgomeryville), and points in the Southeastern USA.
