this bradlees was in North brunswick new jersey and closed in may 1996 with a dozen other stores in the bankruptcy closings.

Bradlees was not a bad little store at all. They reminded me of a more upscale K-mart or Zayre with a little bit of Ann & Hope. I remember in the late 80's early 90's Bradlees was opening up everywhere and shutting down just as fast. Just another body in road after Wal-mart blitzed through

Bradlees I knew of

North Attleboro-built on the site of a former drive in, it is now a Christmas Tree Shop

Seekonk Mass--another former drive in site, this one started life as a Pace Warehouse. The area is now split between a Big Lots (lots of Bradlees label scars inside) and a Staples. The automotive center from the Pace days is vacant

Taunton Mass---vacant last time I was there

Providence RI---converted to AAA offices

Somerset Mass--demolished when the Stop & Shop was rebuilt into a massive Super Stop & Shop. The area where Bradlees and it's adjoining plaza  is now part of the parking lot.

the one in Taunton is Dick's Sporting goods. the one In providence, from what I have researched, says that the store opened March 1996 and the announcement of its closing came August 1996 when it announced it would close 14 stores and the store shut in October 1996, WHY DID THE STORE LAST 8 months?  ther was one in warwick and it is now a BAbies r us, furniture stoer and party store and the warwick one opened in 1994 and closed when Providence did.  there was one in fAll river mass and is a wal-mart.

we had alot of bradlees near us we had about 3 i think one became a tops witch latter clsed and became a blomingdales f untture store

but most od the bralees we had hear were dirty outdated and had horrble service and its no wonder they clsed them down in 1996 thats why i never liked bradlees that much

The East Hartford Bradley is now a Burlington Coat store (which moved from an old JM Field's store). The Manchester Bradlee was empty  - along with the rest of the plaza (Stop & Shop, Anderson-Little, Hobbytyme, USA and about 12 other stores -- including a Butterfield's/Forbes & Wallace store.

I think this one was in Somerville massachusetts. it is now a target and was a big bradlees and built in 1963. and was either 94000 squre efet or 124000 square feet.

IT IS IN DORCHESTER on morrissey blvd. IT was 85,000 square feet and replaced ORbit department store that closed in the mid 1970s. IT is now National liquidators wholesale.

this is even worse than the last time I saw the store. I was in pittsfield last year and I saw some of it gated off and not as much grass was on the ground!!! I heard it may become Dick's, Iparty and Bed bath and beyond.

It was never a woolco. I remember reading an article on the Pittsfield paper about Bradlees closing and it said Bradlees opened there in October 1965. The bradlees in Westbrook Maine and Woburn massachusetts looked like this one.

It was never a woolco. I remember reading an article on the Pittsfield paper about Bradlees closing and it said Bradlees opened there in October 1965. The bradlees in Westbrook Maine and Woburn massachusetts looked like this one.

it looks simaler to the bradlees in new city NY in a way only im guessing thsi one was bulit in the 1970's this one also clsoed in 2001
