hear is why i couldent go to bradlees that uch there were only 6 store located hear the clost one to mme was in Yonkers NY that store is now a Macys

but the rest closed in 1996 hear are the 6 NY locations

One time back in 2000, I saw a man out in front of the Horsham Pa. Bradlees by the street who was sitting on a lawn chair and hold a sign the said, "Boycott Bradlees." I just remembered it now and I always wondered why he was boycotting them.

I once talked by e-mail with Bradlees' former CEO Mark A. Cohen.  Back then, he used to be CEO of Sears Canada so i was one of his employee.  I was surprised to get a reply from him.  I asked if he still had stuff from Bradlees like annual reports.  His reply:

He's now back at Sears Roebuck after being fired from Sears Canada in 2004.  He was named Sears Canada CEO in 2001. He was "sent from Sears Roebuck where he was President of Softlines and Chief Marketing Officer.  Before joining Sears, Cohen served as chairman/CEO for Bradlees.  He also served as president at Goldsmith's and chairman/CEO of Lazarus.  Earlier, Cohen served in a series of increasingly responsible positions for Dayton Hudson Corporation, including president - south central territory, and senior executive vice president - merchandising for Mervyn's.

The one in Lansdale Pa. that closed in 1993 looked like that one with that tinted glass over the entrance. I think that was one of there looks.

Caldor, there were Bradlees (and other stores) that just closed. Chains close under-performing stores all the time. Not every single Bradlees (or any other chain) store closed in the years that they went bankrupt or may have closed other stores.

I was there in july 2004 and the store was not boarded up yet. Too bad the store will soon be demolished to make way for another Lowe's ..!
