Peter Jennings died on Sunday August 7, 2005 of cancer in his sleep. R.I.P.

i am extremly sad (really, i can still envision his voice on the news every night!):(

Lung cancer is probably the worst of all the cancers.  Once you have it, you don't usually survive it.  He smoked and that's why were all saying RIP for him just sad.:(

More bad news for another person, Christopher Reeve's wife has been diagnosed with lung cancer too.

There was a nice program tonight about his career and many comments by personalities that made the news and co-workers.  He will be missed ...

Wow, I missed this story totally.  Didnt he just/or was just getting ready to retire as a news anchor?  :huh:

No, Peter Jennings had no plans to retire anytime soon.  Tom Brokaw and Dan Rather have just recently retired.

Lung cancer has been in the news quite a bit this week.  First Peter, then Christopher Reeve's widow admitted she was diagnosed with lung cancer, and then today, it was announced that film, stage, and TV actress, Barbara Bel Geddes, passed away on Monday at 82 after losing a battle with lung cancer.  Most people will remember Barbara as the matriarch, Miss Ellie Ewing, of the 1980's primetime drama Dallas.

I miss him he died August 10, 2005. I first heard someone mention this when I was staying in the red roof inn in enfield ct. he died of lung cancer right?
