Kroger stops taking Visa at 21 California stores

Kroger has stopped accepting Visa cards at 21 of its stores in California.
The opening salvo in a new battle over merchant swipe fees.

I can recall years ago, during a financially challenged month, driving 25 miles to do my
shopping at a Kroger because we were cash-strapped, and at the time they were the
closest supermarket that DID accept Visa cards.
